Slow writing

Sprinting across the field trying desperately to defend the inevitable
Hearing a very hard punt
Shouting”to me To me To me” like a broken radio
But instead seeing the ball sailing over and landing back in enemy territory and advancing towards the goalie box
Quickly I cashed my breath and started sprinting again

Review
Before I got this drone, I didn't know much about drones. But this drone is perfect for beginners flyers and experienced pilots. Flies really well indoors and out so it’s perfect for anywhere. The flight time is surprisingly long for such a small drone and the charger works great, headless mode and one button flip work extremely well so it makes flying it easy. One problem I do find with this drone is the one button return function, because it  doesn’t really work at all it only makes the drone fly backwards but it’s  a tiny mistake and if you’re a beginner you won’t be using it much. Overall I think that this drone deserves a four out of five stars because it’s cheap, it works well and is great for starting out.

Where to get it
When I first brought this drone I actually got stiffed for 50$, when actually you can buy it on Aliexpress for 20$. But it takes about a month to ship roughly,

Beginning to fly

If you’re a beginner for  flying drones than this paragraph will be helpful. The first thing to know about flying a drone is turning it on and the transmitter, next, to the basic procedure which is turning the altitude switch up and down, it will beep each time you switch it up or down. Now your drone is ready for flying just practice flying up and down slowly, finally, once you’ve mastered your drone to an small altitude start using the other joystick to move it forward, back, left and right.

myth the trickster of the sea

The trickster of the sea
By elan

Long ago  the taniwha were beautiful majestic creatures, their powers were unimaginable .But it all disappeared when their leader Tutuka monga made a wage with an octopus,
Tutuka monga was powerful, smart and brave but he had one huge flaw greed,
Tutuka monga was so greedy he bet his children once just for gold
But Tutuka monga was extremely smart and strong so he always won his bets.

It all began in the great barrier reef when tutuka monga was challenging fish to play his games.
He boomed in a heavy voice ‘‘ha I am the trickster of the sea no one can beat me”,all the fish cowered in fear that is all but one.then from out of nowhere a big blue octopus jumped out and roared with an almighty voice  ‘‘you are not the trickster of the sea because the trickster of the sea can trick even the Tangaroa”.Tutuka monga was really infuriated for he did not like challengers, ‘‘name the task oh mighty octopus” tutuka monga said.trick Tangaroa into giving you the jewel of the sea,but little did tutka monga  know that the octopus was the son of tangaroa.what is the prize asked tutuka monga, the power to fly said the octopus
Ohhhhhhhhhhh wailed the fish.then I shall do it howled tutuka monga in a monstrous voice.

So Tutuka monga potted to trick tangaroa but little did he know that the jewel of the sea was a myth,Tutuka monga  decided to try to steal it in tangaroa's sleep.but before he went the octopus warned his father of the robbery and Tangaroa was very angered and waited for the great mighty taniwha.when Tutuka monga snuck into the god's lair when very suddenly   he arose with mighty anger “taniwha you have tried to steal  from me a god how dare you” he said.”A thousand apologies tangaroa I just saw something that I thought belonged to the taniwha”, ‘‘nothing here belongs to you Tangaroa said and for your your mighty treason I banish you to the bottom of the sea”

Tutuka monga was furious with the octopus so he decided to eat him,so the octopus fled the great barrier reef and to this day the octopus is still hiding in fear of the taniwha.

Composing machinery music

We have been learning about physical science and simple machines. We used Garageband on Mac to compose a 1 minute soundtrack for an imagined mechanical process. It needed a start and be gearing up, a middle section, and a shutting down. We had to include an ostinato track (continuing throughout). Sounds were added from Garageband's loops library, but we also had to create one track using Garageband's Musical Typing keyboard, and to create and record at least one foley sound of our own. We also had to edit sounds in some way - eg:
  • Pitch
  • Effects - eg echoes, distortions
  • Length of notes
  • Speed
  • Volume

This is our first effort and we've made some very interesting soundtracks. We had fun exploring all the different possibilities for creating sound and putting it all together. The idea of becoming a sound engineer, or even a foley artist, appeals to some!

Rail trail

Rail trail
On the  24 March my class did the rail trail. The trail was twenty three kilometres. We practiced by going with

The trip itself started at 9.30am when we left the car park to head towards Little River. When we got to the start we had to wait for half an hour before we could start the trip.

The start was pretty smooth. It started with a view  to the east of hills and forest and to the west a lake filled with toxic algae. I was moving along smoothly but eventually I got worn down by heat. Believe me it is much harder to pedal when you are sweating with a jacket on. After a while all I saw was sheep and the road for half an hour then I came up to this hill. That was the halfway mark.

We had lunch and had  a good look at Lake Ellesmere and had some lunch we waited around chatted and after awhile we finally got back riding. The ride to the end was pretty much the same except no nice start. It was hot the entire way until the end. It felt great to get my backpack off.

The ride back to school was short and once we got back I felt much better.the rail trail  was a fun and difficult experience, below is a picture of me at the halfway mark with my friends eating lunch.IMG_1604.jpg

Favourite

My favourite item was a blanket I  had called Loopy. Loopy was a blue and purple patterned blanket made by my Grandma. I carried it around with me, put it around me like a cape and of course cuddled in it. Today I keep it under my bed because the blanket lost it warmth.
